Picture of the day: STAK Photographer Duo

When I first saw this picture, I didn’t actually take note of it. After a browse through the ever airy, but somewhat repetitive Style Me Pretty, this almost felt too classic and too perfect. Not to mention that STAK produces any number of wonderful documentary shots – they are great at digging right into a moment and getting you there. But then I realized that this image – something that would be right at home with that aqua band of color you’d find anchoring a Tiffany ad – was from a real proposal. And I thought about that. I think that’s something noteworthy. Everything in the industry is moving towards decorative, light, and cute, but this is classic, emotional, and rich. I applaud that, because, say what you want, but this I guarantee. A picture like this isn’t just decoration. It is the creation of a memory. Something that weaves itself into the tapestry of a couple’s life. It is permanence.

This was a fantastic moment for the two of us and I am thrilled STAK could make them memories for a lieftime. We were very sad to hear they already have a previous commitment for our wedding date in Paris. Thanks again STAK for the amazing work.

This image is so captivating, I feel I am THAT girl in THAT moment.

Great thoughts Spencer. It seems our industry has slowly moved towards shooting to impress each other rather than our clients. If you look at any wedding blog, it’s mainly details and “decoration”. They leave out the entire reason we’re there. It’s good to be reminded.

Your timing is so right on, Josh – I was just writing a post that mentioned this. Thanks!
