What if you had everything to lose? Are the answers different? Why?
We all have life to worry about. But you have to know whether what you’re doing is for the future or for the past. Is it about legacy decisions that are slowing you down in the present? Or is it for tomorrow? To get where you want to go?
We can accomplish more than we know. But not when we limit our dreams to the incremental. You will never achieve more than you dream. Focus your actions on the here and now. Make sure you get things done. Trust your ability to react and live in the moment. But use that progress and freedom to help you look at tomorrow’s tomorrow.
When you lose sight of the future, you stall. You turn your attention to small changes that make marginal differences. A good foundation and a functional system are one thing. A myopic strategy is another. Focusing on operations without long-term direction saps your energy and disconnects you from the ideas that translate to big wins. Dreams are a compass.
Don’t ask what you need to do for constant growth. Ask what you’d do if you had to double your income in a year without working more. Ask what you need to do to change the world. These are the types of questions that will align tomorrow with today.
